High time we put up a blog as several things are happening at Steamworks. These photographs resulting from a site visit yesterday.
Above is one of the two sandboxes from Scaldwell lovingly refurbished by Oliver and Robin and awaiting a coat of paint
Meanwhile on the BVLR, Oliver has rescued an old domestic galvanised water tank and, using some timber lying around on the site, transformed it into useful water tower . Repair Shop eat your heart out! Just beyond it is the repositioned iron shed that houses some of the rolling stock.
Some old actual Southwold Railway point components, refurnished and painted by Richard and William. There will be a more detailed post on this process soon.
Thanks to our new Health & Safety Officer, Bob Mole, we have now been supplied with all necessary fire safety equipment. They need mounting, of course, so suitable mounting boards, like this one in the Engine Shed, are being installed. We have broadband on the site now and are arranging for the CCTV cameras, added to and re-arranged a little, to be monitored remotely.
